A Sky Beyond Reach

I’ve heard that girls can only dream of the skies,

A world they long to see, painted through their eyes.

But who are we deceiving? It’s nothing but lies,

For equality’s still a distant prize.

Even though they work twice as hard as men,

We overlook those things every now and then,

And then present our views on equality time and again.

Saying and implementing are two different things,

Women are given the freedom, but to fly - not the wings.

All thoughts considered, we end up at loose strings.

It's time we get a little too serious about this,

And accept the fact that here, equality is what we miss.

So that women get the chance to feel that liberty’s bliss.
